Is Midwestern School of Evangelism closing campus education?

For the first time since the school opened it's doors Midwestern School of Evangelism began a fall term with no students enroled in our on-site classes. Several students had expressed a desire to attend but at the last minute changed their plans. This does not mean that the school is closing it's doors. For at least the first term we plan to hold seminars and night classes for area church members. We feel the school still has a role to play in the growth of Christ's Kingdom and will look for ways to continue to fill that role.

Before Donald G. Hunt passed from this life He started Midwestern Correspondence School (MCS). This school was designed to provide a course of study that could be pursude by people who wanted to learn at home or under the auspices of their local church leaders. MCS has already touched many lives through individual students and church study groups. We have put together a group of Alumni who are even now laying the groundwork for puting classes on the web. We hope to announce our first classes in the September issue of the Voice of Evangelism and then continue to add classes and make resources available through the home computer users.

We hope that you will keep us in your prayers as we press on in our quest to teach and preach the Truth of God's Word and train leaders in the Kingdom!

MIDWESTERN HERITAGE HOMECOMING PLANNED

An ad-hoc committee of former students from Midwestern School of Evangelism has announced that a three-day homecoming is being planned for all former students, faculty, and spouses. Midwestern Heritage Homecoming will be held June 29 - July 1, 2007 in Ottumwa, Iowa, home of MSE. (2007 marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the school.)

This once-in-a-lifetime occasion will provide opportunities to reconnect with classmates, renew friendships, and enjoy fellowship. Many activities are being planned including a picnic, some sports activities, a sit-down banquet, an old-fashioned hymn sing (featuring gospel quartets and trios from the past), a PowerPoint picture presentation, a Sunday morning service with former faculty member Lafe Culver preaching, a carry-in dinner, and a anniversary cake in honor of MSE's 60th year. An early bird feature will provide opportunities for strolling the grounds at MSE, Canteen sandwiches, and Graham's ice cream! DVDs and MHH memorabilia will be available.

We want as many former MSE students, graduates, and alumni to mark the MHH 2007 dates on your calendar and plan to attend. Also please spread the word to long-time friends from your days at MSE. What a grand celebration we will enjoy together! More information will follow as plans progress.   Contact person for MHH is Don Hunt II. Email: don@gatewaysingers.com. Tel. (641) 856-3077 (home) or (641) 895-4868 (cell).
